Got Pirattitude? PPPM Log 8-10-2008 The party was a great success. Everyone had a great time. Miko was very pleased to see his friends and family in celebration of his first 30 years. Click here to see pictures of the party! I wish to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to the PPPC (pirate party planning committee). Carolann, Barbara, Eunice, Allan, Susie, Cliff, Tim, Sherri, Emily, and the servers at Central Café! Thank you one and all! 8-9-2008 The official RSVP count is just over 105. We bought food for 150, so bring your friends and family hungry! 8-8-2008 The work is almost done, the party is near. All team members should arrive by 12:30. Catering staff will be arriving at noon. Esmeralda Truelove (Carolann) has the key and will be sailing in with her RV at noon. Decorating crew will arrive at 12:30. The party starts at 2Pm. Food service will begin shortly after 2 and continue throughout the day. See you at the Party! 7-30-2008 We had a great time at this PPPM. Everyone is getting very excited about the big day, especially Miko. The door prizes are ready. The treasure chests are stuffed with the booty. The food has been ordered. We rehearsed the Yo Ho song, what a hoot! 7-4-2008 Next PPPM to be July 10, at 10am. Meet at Gresham Armory 544 NE Division Gresham OR 97030 for a quick walk through and facility overview, then conclude meeting at Central Café 124 NE 3rd Gresham, OR. 7-3-2008 Party Update All hands on deck on August 10th at 12:00pm at the Gresham Armory Schedule: 12:00pm All mates report to the swap deck 1:30pm Greeter’s start linen them up to walk the plank 2:00pm Guest start arriving Band begins Food ready to serve 2:30pm Door prizes start being announced every 15 minutes 3:00pm “Ahoy Maties” Captain Miko Arrives 4:00pm Trophies awarded for best costumes 6:00pm CLEAN UP 7:00pm Last man out! Set up Food prep and the keg by Hussey’s Food service by Alyck, Andrew and Jessica Decorations of tables- sea shells, coins flags by Susie Decorations of walls and signage wench Unger and minions Set up of greeters table, goodie bags, guest book, feather pin by wench Koreena and Brandi Table & chairs set up by crew Phillipi, Jones and Tyler Greeters are to hand out mugs with a coin, stickers, name tags, tattoos, and eye patch. Have guests choose name and sign mug and name tag with sharpies. Hosting are Caption Miko, First Mate Tim , Financier Phillipi and his wench Cover Kings band will provide entertainment. Honored wench Hill top Singin Sherri will salute captian Miko Captain Miko escorted by Terry Peter James Arby Trophies have been ordered categories to be best buccaneer, best wench, best mate, oldest pirate, youngest pirate, loudest pirate, come the furthest pirate, and Captains choice! Arby has declined as announcer, position is open for suggestions. Photography to be done by crewman Jessica and James Canon to be brought in by the armory? 6-12-2008 Second PPPM went well, thanks to all who participated. Allan will be building a plank for guests to “Walk” as they enter the hall. Susie will be designing the table decorations and the picture op spot. Tim will be acquiring décor supplies, and getting the hours for the hall extended for set up and clean up from noon till 7. Emily has agreed to help in the kitchen as a protege'. Sherri will head up the entertainment and be the party manager on event day. She will check into finding “real” pirates to keep the party mixed up. James has been tagged to be the official photography with the help of Jessica M. Arby has been tagged to be the master of ceremonies. Please contact Eunice for financial reimbursements and questions. Carolann is the party coordinator and continues to give much needed organization. Barbara is the official caterer and will be getting the RB kegs and equipment. Barbara will also be submitting a invoice to Eunice within the next 30 days. Barbara will also be contacting the armory to acquire the cannon. Miko promises to attend with the biggest smiles in the whole world. We are all becoming very excited to see all our long lost friends. Next PPPM July 10 at Central Café at 10:30, and the final PPPM will be July 31, at Central Café at 10:30.
6-10-2008 More post cards sent out today. Allan bought a pirate chest last week for décor and the party booty. We also re-sent 15 e-invites from those whom have not registered their RSVP. Next PPPM (Pirate Party Planning Meeting) will be at Central Café 10:30am Thursday June 12, 2008.
5-15-08 Miko went to his old elementary school and invited his principle and teachers. Yeah!
5-11-08 Post cards sent out to those whom we do not have email addresses for. We still have no contact information for several guests. Miko and Tim will hand deliver invites next week.
5-9-08 Sendomatic selected to host the e-invites. We selected this site to host because they do not allow phishing or advertising on their invitations. Other services had more features, but had multiple ads and difficult to navigate prompts.
5-8-08 Had our first PPPM (pirate party planning meeting) at central café. Location is to be Gresham Armory located at 500 NE Division St. Chef Team Hussey presented their menu plan, all food stuffs will be of pirate/Caribbean theme. Carolann will be heading up the free raffle, will be using “pieces of eight” as drawing tokens. Tim will be preparing slide show of Miklos achievements. Eunice will be making sure Allan builds a pirate ship for Miko’s wheelchair, and a pirate chest to hold the raffle booty. Miko will be coming in to the armory with a bit of pomp and be dubbed captain Miklos flanked by four pirates. Koreena and Brandi will be invited to be greeters. Each guest will have the opportunity to create a pirate name tag. Examples include Snifflin' Herb Sparrow and Peggy Onefoot. Table decorations include pirate flags and pirate ship piñata. There will be 10 tables for guests and 5 tables for games/names/food. Costume contest will have three trophies, one for best buckeneer, best wench, best mate. There will be gift bags at the door and will include tattoos and “pieces of eight”
4-30-08 Miko’s mom approves the pirate theme.
4-10-08 Hired a band today. “The Cover Kings” have agreed to provide entertainment for the event. Looks like it going to be a party! |
